Charitable Gaming Grants
All Saskatchewan groups and organizations licensed
by Indigenous Gaming Regulators (IGR) or the
Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) to
conduct charitable gaming (bingos, raffles, Texas
Hold ‘em poker tournaments, Monte Carlo events and
breakopen ticket sales) are eligible to receive a
grant equal to 25 per cent of the net proceeds
(revenue) raised from these activities.
“Net Proceeds” means the funds left
for charitable use after the payment of prizes to
players and all expenses as authorized by IGR.
All charitable or religious groups and organizations
licensed by IGR under section 207(1)(b) of the Criminal
Code of Canada to conduct bingo, breakopen
ticket sales, raffles, Texas Hold ‘em poker
tournaments and Monte Carlo events are eligible to
receive the grant provided they are in good standing
with IGR (up-to-date reporting).
Charities do not have to register to receive the
grant. IGR will get the necessary information from
the charitable gaming licences that have been issued
and from the various reports and other documentation
that is already being submitted to IGR.
Payments will be issued quarterly equal to 25% of
net proceeds from all licensed gaming activities.
Charitable or religious groups and organizations
with multiple licences will receive one lump-sum
payment to include all charitable gaming activity.
