Chief Darin Poorman was born and raised at Kawacatoose First Nation. His many accomplishments include eight years on Band Council where he helped negotiate the Treaty Land Entitlement Settlement and the Health Transfer Agreement. His goals include achieving self-sufficiency for his First Nation through the creation of employment as well as improving the infrastructure. Chief Poorman sees his role on the IGR Board as one of creating awareness of IGR as a part of First Nations Self-Government.
