
Debbie Maxie is a member of the WhiteBear First Nation. She was
re-elected to council in June 2009 and is responsible for the justice
and gaming portfolios for WhiteBear First Nation. Councilor Maxie
has been active in maintaining and promoting programs such as the
court-worker program, fine option, youth and justice committee training
in addition to policy development for their community justice mandate.
She states that it is important in her election term “to ensure
that all band members have the necessary information so they are
able to access the proper services and make informed decisions.”
Councilor Maxie is committed to her family of three adult children
and 15 grandchildren who are actively involved in sports and pow-wow.
She has been married for 34 years and is proud of the support she
receives from her husband in her role as councilor for WhiteBear
First Nation.
